Islam is a beautiful way of life that teaches us how to be good, kind, and close to Allah. One of the most important things in Islam is prayer, which is called Namaz or Salah. It is how we talk to Allah, thank Him, and ask Him for help. Just like we eat food to keep our bodies strong, we pray to keep our hearts and souls strong.
Allah loves when we pray, and He has made it easy for us to do. He only asks us to pray five times a day, and each prayer takes just a few minutes. When we pray, we feel peaceful, happy, and close to Allah.
Now, let’s learn more about Namaz (Salah) and why it is so important for every Muslim!
What is Namaz (Salah)?
Namaz, also called Salah, is a special way Muslims talk to Allah. It is a beautiful gift from Allah to us. When we pray, we show our love and respect for Him. Allah tells us in the Qur’an:
📖 “And establish prayer for My remembrance.” (Surah Taha 20:14)
This means we should pray so we always remember Allah.
Why Do We Pray?
🕌 Allah Told Us To – In the Qur’an, Allah asks us to pray five times a day. It is one of the most important things in Islam.
🤲 To Thank Allah – Allah gives us everything—our food, family, and even the air we breathe. We pray to thank Him.
❤️ To Stay Close to Allah – When we pray, we feel near to Allah. It makes our hearts happy and peaceful.
🙏 To Ask for Help – We can ask Allah for anything when we pray. He listens to us.
🧼 To Wash Away Sins – Salah helps us become better and cleans our hearts from bad things.
How Many Times Do We Pray?
Muslims pray five times a day. Each prayer has a special name:
☀️ Fajr – Early morning before sunrise
🌞 Dhuhr – Afternoon when the sun is high
🌇 Asr – Late afternoon
🌅 Maghrib – Just after sunset
🌙 Isha – At night before sleeping
📖 The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
🕊 “The first thing a person will be asked about on the Day of Judgment is their Salah.” (Sunan Abu Dawood)
This shows how important Salah is in our life!
What Do We Need Before Praying?
Before we pray, we must be clean. We do Wudu (washing our face, hands, and feet). This makes us fresh and ready to stand before Allah.
📖 The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
🕊 “Salah is not accepted without purification.” (Sahih Muslim)
💡 In the next chapter, we will learn how to do Wudu step by step!
