Did you know that Surah Al-Fatiha is the most important chapter in the Qurโan?
It is also called “Ummul Kitab” (The Mother of the Book) because it contains everything we need to know about our connection with Allah. We recite it in every Salah, and it is a dua that brings us closer to Him.
๐ Allah says in the Qurโan:
โAnd We have certainly given you the seven repeated verses and the great Qurโan.โ (Surah Al-Hijr 15:87)
The “seven repeated verses” in this ayah refer to Surah Al-Fatiha because we recite it in every rakโah of Salah!
What Does Surah Al-Fatiha Mean?
Surah Al-Fatiha has seven beautiful verses that teach us about Allahโs mercy, guidance, and our need for Him. Letโs go through them one by one!

Alhamdulillahi Rabbil โAlamin
๐ All praise is for Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
๐น Everything in the universe belongs to Allah! He created the earth, the sun, the moon, and all of us. We say Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah) for everything He has given us!

ุงูุฑููุญูู
ููฐูู ุงูุฑููุญููู

Ar-Rahmanir-Rahim
๐ The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
๐น Allah is the Most Kind and Loving. He forgives us when we make mistakes and always helps us. No one can love us more than Allah!

ู ุงูุฏููููู
Maliki Yawmid-Deen
๐ Master of the Day of Judgment.
๐น One day, we will stand before Allah, and He will reward us for our good deeds. If we pray, help others, and obey Him, He will give us Jannah (Paradise)!

ุฅููููุงูู ููุนูุจูุฏู ููุฅููููุงูู ููุณูุชูุนูููู
Iyyaka naโbudu wa iyyaka nastaโeen
๐ You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.
๐น Only Allah can help us! We pray to Him, ask Him for everything, and trust Him to take care of us.

ุงููุฏูููุง ุงูุตููุฑูุงุทู ุงููู
ูุณูุชููููู
ู
Ihdinas-Sirat al-Mustaqeem
๐ Guide us to the Straight Path.
๐น We ask Allah to show us the right wayโthe way of Islam, truth, kindness, and goodness.
๐ 6.
ุตูุฑูุงุทู ุงูููุฐูููู ุฃูููุนูู
ูุชู ุนูููููููู
ู
Sirat al-ladhina anโamta โalayhim
๐ The path of those You have blessed.
๐น We ask Allah to guide us like the Prophets, truthful people, and good Muslims who lived before us.
๐ 7.
ุบูููุฑู ุงููู
ูุบูุถููุจู ุนูููููููู
ู ููููุง ุงูุถููุงูููููู
Ghayril-maghdubi โalayhim wa lad-dallin
๐ Not the path of those who have earned Your anger, nor those who have gone astray.
๐น We ask Allah to protect us from going the wrong way and from doing bad things. We want to follow the right path and be good Muslims.
Why is Surah Al-Fatiha So Special?
